LOCKDOWN KITCHEN: BY AMBASSADOR CHEF JACK CROSTI

With chefs in lockdown it has been heartening to see many of them open up their kitchens and share their recipes and cooking tips online. It’s a fact that food is a comfort to people and being able to cook for our families has been one thing we can do to feel like we are in control and doing something positive in such a time of uncertainty. And as we find ourselves with a lot more time on our hands it is an excellent way to upskill in the kitchen and who better to learn from than New Zealand’s greatest chefs.

Like all chefs and restaurateurs around the country, Jack Crosti was suddenly faced with the temporary closure of his restaurant, Number 5 in Auckland due to the Covid-19 crisis. Jack’s positivity and creativiness saw him set up his own You Tube Channel - Cookdown Lockdown. He nominated other chefs to put up cooking videos which have been collected together on a facebook page here.

So whether you want to learn to make pasta from scratch, cook home made beef burgers or make a sourdough starter check out Jack’s You Tube channel here.
